Privacy policy
This policy explains what information LootGauge ("we", "us") handles when you use this website, and the choices you have. LootGauge is operated by Chase Dishner, an individual based in the United States, who is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
Information we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider may record standard request logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, time) for security and reliability.
- Local storage. We store your cookie choice in your browser's local storage, and recently loaded deal data in session storage so pages load faster. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Deal data requests
Our live deal pages load data directly from the CheapShark API (www.cheapshark.com). When you use those pages, your browser connects to CheapShark, which receives your IP address and browser details as with any web request. When you click a deal, you pass through CheapShark's redirect to the store, and CheapShark or the store may set their own cookies, including affiliate tracking. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Cookies and advertising
We use (or plan to use) Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info (US) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU).

Other third-party vendors or ad networks may also serve ads on this site. A list of them will be shown in our consent message where required.
Your consent choices
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies or keep essential storage only. If you choose essential only, any ads we show will be non-personalised. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland will see a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform once ads are live.
Analytics
We do not currently use analytics. If we add a privacy-friendly analytics service, we will update this section first.
Children
This site is aimed at a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, or object to certain processing. Email us to make a request.
Changes
We will update the date at the top when this policy changes.
